  • The cynic is great.
Can you do something on long term planning for Celtic. We don’t seem to have a long term football strategy. We have exciting young players who will only progress with first team football. I don’t think they’ll get a chance this season because of the pressure. Callum McGregor is proof that loaning them out reaps dividends and a colts team actually makes sense because most of the players would progress and go to other Scottish teams. Resistance from other teams is short sighted- there could be a rule that if young players are sold on they go to other teams in Scotland. The club could look after its interests by putting in a sell on clause like with Aaron Hickey. It would be a win win for all concerned and we’d have stronger leagues.
Get that Norwegian chap to look into development statistics for young players out in loan.
Celtic also need a can opener for teams sitting back in Scotland- a Rogic type that can stay fit.
There should also be an spfl fund to finance grass pitches. Plastic pitches in the top division is brutal and embarrassing.

Finally, is this Celtic team a worrying mirror of the 90s oldco Rangers team ie ageing players like Brown under a manager who is now very much a company man. Rangers spent big on players who didn’t perform that year- we have players who don’t even get a game. Celtic had a good team with a good blend, like Rieper and Stubbs. Seems to me Rangers don’t have the quality Celtic have but have a settled formation, players in their best position and a team ethic. That’s why Rangers may win the league.
